After the success of the Rugby 7s competition held in Hughenden in previous years, we plan to make this year's carnival even bigger & better. We expect to see 16 teams registered in this year’s competition, with Women’s Rugby Union as well as Men’s. The HR7s competition is a great family day out.
This weekend not only provides a chance for social entertainment, but also offers free access to health facilities. At the grounds this year there will be tents housed with medical professionals to offer advice about any concerns - physical or mental - so make sure you pop in to have a chat. These tents are kindly run by the Royal Flying Doctor Service and Outback Futures, we thank them for providing such an important service to Western Queensland.
The Rugby 7s competition attracts young men and women from around our country who played and loved Rugby at their schools. However, due to distance and work commitments, they no longer have the opportunity to play regular in sport & competitions. Many of these young men or women now manage properties and businesses in these rural communities, and this weekend provides the opportunity to bring together people from far and wide. The Rugby 7s committee looks forward to hosting teams from across the state.
